Availability, Prices and Payments
What are your rates and are you available for my wedding date?
My pricelist is posted online. You can use fill out the contact form or send me an email about your wedding date and locations.
Does sales tax apply?
The state of New Jersey requires that I collect and remit sales tax on the entire coverage fee unless the photographs are to be delivered outside NJ. If the photographs are to be delivered in NJ, then the sales tax applies, even if the event was photographed in another state.
How do we reserve the date?
Your date is reserved once I receive your signed contract and a retainer for $500. I will return a fully signed copy of the contract for your records. The date is booked on a first come, first served basis. Dates are not held pending a meeting as other clients may actually submit their contract and retainer in the meantime.
What payment methods do you accept?
The retainer may be paid by check only. Prints and album orders may be paid by check or cash. The contract balance will be due 30 days before the wedding.
How would you identify your photographic style?
I shoot and combine, different photography styles I have learned from over the years.
Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?
Yes, all the images gets color, saturation, density adjustments. Additional retouching available for a fee.
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
Yes. Flash, no flash, window light, candle light, ambient light, dark ceremony I have done them all. If there is specific lighting requirements from venues let me know 6 weeks before the event.
Is your media preference film or digital?
Digital
What are the advantages of having two photographers?
1. Two photographers are able to shoot and cover 2 different angles, a main shooter and the second photographer catching the candid moments.
2. More and more churches have strict restrictions about not moving during the ceremony, having 2 photographers at different angles is a big plus, than having all the ceremony pictures from the same spot.
3. If the wedding has a really tight schedule, different locations.
4. When the wedding has more that 200+ guests and a big wedding party, having 2 or more photographers makes the process smoother and faster.
How many photographers do you work with?
I will be the primary photographer and work with a second shooter/assistant.
Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?
I will be the primary photographer on your event. If I am already booked I will send other photographers.
Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one wedding in a day? Weekend?
I only book one wedding in a day.
Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the wedding day?
I network with hundreds of photographers and guarantee you will have a photographer with comparable skills as me, in the very off chance that I am unable to make it.
What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?
3 professional camera bodies, lenses, flashes, remote off camera flash.
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
We have back-up equipment all the time.
Do you charge hourly or full day?
Full Day coverage up to 10 hours, additional hours is available $300/hour.
Do you require a meal break? If yes, do you require that the wedding party provide your meal?
Yes, I will be up on my feet with nice heavy cameras from the bride getting ready to goodbye shots, I will need a break to eat because my hands would be shaking from hunger.
How many breaks do you usually take throughout the day?
one meal break.
Do you charge for travel?
No travel charges within 100 mile radius of Bergenfield, NJ 07621. A travel fee of $100 per hour is added for the entire round trip travel time. An additional travel fee is added for assignments requiring air travel, hotel accommodation or auto rental — please inquire for details.
How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?
Online proofs will be ready for viewing 1-2 weeks after the event.
In what format are the initial proofs offered?
4? x 6? printed proofs 1-2 weeks after the online proofs are selected.
How long can the couple keep the proofs?
The proofs are yours to keep forever.
Do you retain the copyright for the photos?
I retain the copyrights, but grant private use (reproduction/print) rights to you so you can print as many pictures as you desire.
Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?
I reserve the right to use photos in marketing, advertising materials and competition submission. That might include my website, blog, brochures, magazines.
Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the couple?
Digital Files are included in higher end wedding packages, High resolution images on DVD are available for a fee.
Will images be available for viewing on an online gallery?
Yes, Online proofs will be ready for viewing 1-2 weeks after the event.
What kind of albums do you offer?
Flush mount, coffee table albums, and parents albums.
When will I get the final book?
Once you complete the image selection process and approve the album design, the album is usually ready in 6-10 weeks.
